Since Guinevere first opened its doors on the King's Road in 1963, it has been one of London's most exciting antique shops. Their philosophy is that 'it is not the age of the piece which matters, but its form, texture and visual impact': tubular stacking chairs from the 1930s or Han dynasty pots dating from two thousand years before are displayed in decorative groups or in inspiring roomsets. The shop feels like the hidden retreat of an eccentric collector - there are interconnecting rooms filled with extraordinary furniture, beds, mirrors, lights, textiles and smaller decorative items.
